Why wouldn't Shu act like a douche towards Gai? In fact, he's in GHQ's hands now. He probably isn't present to make nice with Shu lol.

It's funny cos I'm pretty sure one of the guys working on the show in a Q and A interview talked about how he wanted to emphasize the patriotism of being Japanese or some shit lol.

At least it meant he was doing SOMETHING. The choices were nut up and deal with it, or become herr Fuhrer. Writers chose Evil Shoe, so whatever. At least it was choice, instead of him meandering. It LOOKED like he was going Paragon route, but this has been the typical Renegade mistake bullshit that he'll turn around from due to a realization stemming from a greater threat and fwiendship. Probably. It would have also been different to see the protagonist become an asshole instead of sunshine and smiles all the time.

I'd like to see that interview, because I was getting that feeling at the end of 17. The UN has apparently been trying to help the entire time after the Lost Christmas, but Japan turned inward with no one knowing why. At the end of 17, we see a pretty solemn autocracy staring extermination in the face as if they had been expecting this all along. I'm starting to wonder if the king's power is a device in which the writers are placing some sense of national pride or increased independence. I think they may have been trying to make a new age 'king' and 'queen' the whole time.

But yet again another complete clusterf*ck of an episode. I'l just finish this because i started it, but the show really went a bit downhill in the last 5 episodes
