I wouldn't read MAL threads for shows that are adaptations.

Haven't watched the episode yet myself, but I read past this in the manga so I know.

I say anyone who isn't a main character, aka anyone besides Nagate and Izana have a extremely high chance to die. Hopefully Kunato dies sooner than later that guy is a total fagot. Can't believe they pulled a Swordfish on us though at the end of the episode.

Hoshijiro was obviously as much of a main character as Izana up to this point, even appeared to be the main heroine since she was clearly winning the Nagate.

I actually agree, she definitely did feel like a main but I was actually going off the MAL character listings which show Nagate and Izana as the only main characters while all others were listed as supporting. However I think this may actually end up spoiling the show Asad

edit: the manga's chronology is different than the anime....also many scenes are different as well, like they didnt really introduce the glasses chick that was observing best girl, but in the manga they did

They changed the end of the battle so that Benisuzume simply moves out of engagement range so they'll probably fit the actual reason that that battle ended there during a future episode.

And stuff like introducing the scientist is clearly going to be done next episode they're just moving stuff around so it fits the 20~ minute anime episode format better and make for cliffhangers/ good finishing points.

The show's a pretty good adaptation though and some stuff is changed for the better even though some other little things are omitted for the worse.

Also the CGI can still be clunky occasionally but this episode had another good mecha battle and surprisingly a good character fight scene. That "longsword" (lolunderwater) fight was really well done.

Pretty much the entire population of Sidonia is made up of clones or the descendants of clones after that battle 100 years ago reduced the population to a few hundred, that's also when they introduced the photosynthesis modification to the populous and the 3rd gender was basically introduced to increase the number of possible reproductive couplings, if there's a shortage of males or females which leaves a ton of single people of one gender like in China right now then the 3rd gender is there to become whatever is needed.
