Knights of Sidonia
Adaptation of the Manga by Nihei Tsutomu
Status: Airing

Synopsis: It's been a thousand years since the Gauna, a strange alien race with no known method of communication, destroyed the solar system. A portion of humanity managed to escape using enormous "seed ships" like the Sidonia, which have allowed them to maintain the population while drifting through space. Nagate Tanikaze is a young man who has been raised deep in the bowels of the ship. When he goes into training to pilot the huge robotic weapons known as Gardes, Nagate is entrusted with piloting the legendary unit known as Tsugumori. Nagate and his fellow pilots put their lives on the line against the Gauna, in the ultimate battle for the survival of humanity!
If you can get over the 3DPD CG, it seems pretty interesting.
I like the feeling of this better than Nihei's other stuff so far.

I can tell people apart well enough, apart from those twins, obviously.
Nihei's art style is super sameface with or without CG, but there enough identifying characteristics with important characters so that that isn't a problem for me with this.
The worst thing about the CG is when it's 12FPS super choppy for no good reason.

Yeah, I would have said clones at first (but I don't know if they are clones) and I remember seeing someone call them twins somewhere so I just picked that up off them without thinking.

all i know is theres like 5 or 6 chicks that look a like, 1 chick has straight bangs, 1 chick died so we dont have to worry about her, and 1 chick isnt even a chick.....or a dude (if you guys didnt catch that already)

^i dont think so, when they were changing into suits in ep 2 there was a female change room and a male change room, so theres obviously a split, its probably a special case for whats his/her face cause he/she was changing in the male room

And I still don't understand the apparent difficulty people are having telling characters apart.
Post pictures of two named characters you actually mix up because I don't get this complaint at all so far.

Hoshijiro and Shinatose.
It was difficult because the only difference between the two is their hair.
Dont worry, i figured it out. Shinatose has more of a side comb.

The hair should've been easy enough to differentiate, Hoshijiro has a short hime cut and Izana has a bob, the only reason you had any more difficulty telling them apart based on this than you would with two short haired girls in any other anime is that they both had realistic black hair colour, whereas you could do two identical characters except for one detail, the hair colour and you'd be able to tell them apart right away.
Eyes and bodies are different too.
Not to mention personalities and voices.
I think it was more a problem of information overload during the first few episodes than an actual problem with how they look too similar.
I was vaguely aware of the manga already and knew they were two distinct characters so it was never going to be a problem for me.
