Good stuff here, I just wish the show had the budget it really needs to do the battles justice, the CGI they use for crowds of Bakenezumi is revolting.

I'm liking this post timeskip setting though, I'm surprised about how fast war's broken out between the Colonies and even more surprised if what Satoru said at the end means that Kibroumaru's entire army is destroyed already.

Hope he's alright.

Can't wait for the next episode and although I love the first ED the new one is a welcome change.

Ground Spiders: The large foreign species that attacked the kids and was eventually defeated by the Giant Hornets.

Robber Flys: Squealer's colony.

Giant Hornets: Kiroumaru's colony.

Goat Moths: Squonk's colony. Supposedly still independant, but more closely tied to the Robber Fly's alliance.

Spider Wasps: The colony allied with the Giant Hornets that was attacked illegally by the Goat Moths.

According to Kiroumaru, Squealer's robber fly alliance has already taken the Goat Moth's Queen hostage, so their independance is just a cover so that they could be used to start this conflict without making the Robber Fly's look like the aggressor. Squealer says that Kiroumaru is lying and that the Goat Moths' queen is still in charge, but she has appointed a Regent named Queachy to deal with political matters.

As it turns out, in the battle between the Goat Moths + Robber Fly affiliated allies and the Spider Wasps + Giant Hornet affiliated allies, the Spider Wasps switched sides and helped the Goat Moths, even though the whole conflict was supposedly started when the Goat Moths attacked them.

Squealer must have been controlling both "independant" colonies to start the conflict, Kiroumaru knew that the Goat Moths were Squealer's pawns, but didn't suspect the Spider Wasps who appeared to be his close allies.

All dis complicated Bakenezumi politics.

its pretty interesting though, in 10 years time they managed to acquire gunpowder tech not to mention breach loading system on their rifles.... tech that took hundreds of years to incorporate fully, in any case i wonder what theyre up to, cause no matter their tech or numbers, PK users can still annihilate them single-handedly

in 10 more years, nukes will be made!!!

How accurate is the anime to the novel?

Wait each week to see what happens is gonna kill me.
I should have waited for this series to end and marathoned it like I was planning.

Pretty accurate, but the Novel goes into greater detail about stuff.

And there are times where it doesn't follow it exactly, like episode 5 which Yamauchi was given to ruin.

Also the sexual stuff is more explicit in the novel, Satoru and Saki had oral sex when they were captured in episode 5 before they noticed the Bakenezumi guard.
