Build a PC!

My PSU is 750 watt, I have no issues with power. Well it doesn't really matter, my fans are just on full blast all the time. My case is also fairly quite so I don't have too many issues. I will probably go with a different company if I have to replace the board.

if i asked you guys to help me build a pc for 600 that is guaranteed to be not obsolete for at least 2 years can you help me?

its been like 3 years since i last decided to build one and browsed sites on tutorials on how to build a computer, but now that information is lost so i dont know jack shite

plus i dont know the market and whats "good" for me and my price range

This should be a good start. And Newegg has sales every day, so some things like ram might end up even cheaper.

oh btw i have a 40" and a 22" 1080p and 720p (respectively) LCDs that im not using so im ok in that department
however i dont expect to be able to buy all at once

i still need a case and a hardrive right? is that all or is there more stuff i need?

Also about the case, are they all made relatively the same inside it? I know there are different sizes though

Here is a list of 1TB or greater drives. That should work for you, especially if you have a lot of stuff you want to store.

I don't know what size you are looking for, so I can't fully recommend you a drive. Also price would help in determining the drive.

Also where are you storing your PC? How much vertical space do you have. I recommend a mid tower, or a full tower if you want room to play around with.

yeah the 300 gb of files thats taking up space are all my po.........games

oh im in my basement, really really spacious those are good about the 110-130 price range is spot on, so basically with all the parts im looking at a 700 dollar desktop? (remember not including the monitor cause i have one already)

Booting windows 7 in ten seconds or less. Launching nearly any program instantly.

well i boot windows 7 in like 20 seconds so thats meh, but any game instantly would be nice, especially shogun 2's excruciating load times

Those are probably the best cases you could get. They are fairly quiet and sturdy. I have a Cooler Master case and it is nice.

My case is similar to this one, but mine is the previous version.

You should also get a good CPU cooler. Now to do that you have to know what CPU you are going to get plus the board type and also what case you are going to buy (you have to know the width of the case so you get the right cooler).

It's smaller than it looks.

I think it is only 120mm fan. The biggest you can get is 200mm (now that is a big fan).

How long you can wait is the biggest thing that can affect price. I'd wait as long as possible on the GPU, and even then, check the OCN Marketplace. There are some good sellers over there, and since it's a forum, they aren't exactly anonymous.

anyway why wait on the GPU? you sayin they are comin out with faster GPUs and they dont get outdated yet cheaper?

I'm saying the older models will get cheaper. The community decides what's outdated. The 5K series is still going strong. My 5970 is still on par with a GTX 580. The only ones that match it are the other dual-chip GPUs. PT still has a 5850 and is apparently doing just fine with it.
