Well think about it. If you wrote a novel about swords and sorcery, and for one scene you had some fighter jets flying around, would you bother getting technical and messing with your target fanbase's heads? They know what Noble Phantasms are but not Immelman turns, keep it simple and say backflip or corkscrew, directions and images that the readers can relate to. Also, make the event sound very natural, "The jet screamed through the black night, with Berserker riding the machine like a tamed stallion, desperately trying to escape the meglomaniacal aura of the Legendary Gilgamesh." Well I'm no writer, so I tried.

I forgot to say, it's good to let the reader use their imagination, another reason not to be super specific if not necessary.

The more and more I watch, I don't get it. Is the creator seriously considering redoing the whole Fate universe to be more serious, simultaneously alienating his eroge fans? Let's say he never wanted it to be sexual in the first place. That's a perfectly normal desire, but you can't just go back and undo the entire past like this. Or is he justifying that the next series became a harem because the main character was dead sexy??

No, Nasu didn't want Fate to be an eroge originally, the protag was originally a female and Saber a male, but in the VN market sex sells so the final version had sex scenes, which take up maybe 1% of the actual reading time.

There's been the Realta Nua re-release of the VN with voices added and sex scenes removed, there's been two DEEN anime adaptations with sex scenes removed.

And the prequel LN which NEVER had sex scenes gets an adaptation which also has no sex scenes and you complain that it's a sudden 180 in tone.

Even if the LN did have them (and the story would no doubt have suffered for having them shoehorned in there) then the Anime would probably follow suit with the others and remove them, they have to censor gore for broadcast and you expect hentai scenes?

IT DOESN'T FUCKING NEED SEX SCENES

And it'd alienate far more viewers if it had them than it does by not having them.

It's not about sex. Directly. In general, the problem is that the fans liked the games and anime for exactly how they were. The series got its popularity with the sex scenes, the romance, the comedy, the campy action scenes, etc. Even though the creator decides to recall all of the media formats and edit the ecchi and well...the fun out of them, in reality he can't do a thing to change it, because at that point, the series has become an incredible monster that is growing out of control, and to stay relevant, he needs to go with the flow, meet the needs of his fans. He did the opposite, turned his back on his fans "who coincidentally like sex scenes", but it's not their fault because they were their already and established with the series. They're the victims here. The creator shouldn't have added sex, romantic comedy, any of the fluff if he didn't want to, and that ladies and gentleman is why he's not a victim, because he gave into temptation, which he's afraid to admit to!

I think it's mainly because what you're saying is fuckstupid.

The franchise has more fans at this stage who either don't want or don't care about hentai scenes than those that actually think they're a vital part.

For those that do want them, they have the original VN and its sequel Fate/Hollow Ataraxia.

You're ignoring what I said, I said it's not just sex, but romance, comedy, different themes being introduced in Fate/Zero that are the polar opposite of Fate/Stay night. Why would fans have no problem with drastic changes like this?

In Fate/Stay Night whenever they described the previous war it sounded like the kind of thing we're getting here.

I feel that this small contigent of fans that do care may soon experience what I went through, when the Fate series, a harem by nature, became a drama, in the same way that Yu-Gi-Oh went from being a superhero story to a kid's car game, or when Tenchi Muyo was remade a million times with new plots but the same characters, or when Kamina died, and my prayers for a better story fell on deaf ears. WILL THIS HAPPEN TO THEM TOO?
