I really liked this episode, but then again, I have a thing for Rin and enjoy seeing the little things that make her who she turns out to be in Fate/Stay. Yeah the episode felt like a filler, but all the Fate animes have been full of them and deviations from the main story. Nothing new here.

So yeah, you know how the last episode looked all nice and expensive even though it was half-filler?

This ep seems to have suffered for it, plenty o' derpfaces.

QUALITY

This is a particularly bad looking moment but seriously, compare pretty much any frame of Saber, Irisviel, Gilgamesh, etc in this ep with some of the earlier episodes and it's very noticably poorer, Rider's Ionian Hetaroi was drawn pretty well, and got the lionshare of the animation budget, but it also could've been done better, they were cutting corners even there.

It's probably more to do with time constraints than money, that break until April will be a lot easier to wait out if it prevents more episodes from getting shafted like this (no pun intended).

Also, more stuff cut from teh episode, hopefully it'll be among the scenes that get added in the Blu-Ray, and hopefully they'll polish this ep's art and animation too.

Ok, so I am seriously gonna cry when Rider bites it. The guy is just so damn cool, awesome writing and I give full props to the VA for making him actually believable in the depths of what he is saying.

Rin's adventure was awesome. Drinking episode was awesome. This is quickly becoming the best anime I've seen in years.

How is that a problem? The whole point is that Kiritsugu uses unconventional (by Magi standards) tactics to catch them off guard, that's why he's been so successful against them in the past.

And he worked as a mercenary in regular warzones as well as being "The Magus Killer".
