Finally managed to watch the first episode and it got me interested.

And I can tell for a FACT that the guy with the bugs is going to get screwed over the hardest. Like, tectonic shift to the face hard.

I'll probably be trudging through this a bit slow since the first episode was a tad longer than expected.

Woot somebody died. About friggin time. I've watched way too many shows lately where people seem to just kick it at the drop of a hat and now here is a show where the elimination of people is the whole point and it takes 14 episodes for it to actually happen.

Consider the fact that it's a prequel and constrained by the established rules of the Holy Grail War.

If you kill off a Servant, then a Master is also made redundant in the war, if you kill off a Master then their Servant will disappear shortly afterwards.

How fast could you really afford to kill characters off with this kind of framework?

If characters died regularly from the very beginning it'd make for very few fights and a much shorter series, plus the cast would dwindle down to nothing before most of the characters are even slightly developed.

First half was a set up, it gives you backstory, context, character motivations, reasons to like or dislike characters so that you actually care if/when they die. Now we're into the second half there'll be more character deaths than episodes.

Sure he's swag as fuck, but it'd be nice.
