I mean forget renting games, you can't even let people in your own house play the game on their own system without buying multiple copies if I am reading this story right.

No wonder why EA got rid of its online pass....MS just made it a staple for all games.

Wow bad typo WolfWood. No I'm saying not only do you need the disc, but you can't let people in your own house borrow your game and use it on their console without paying the used game fee and transfers the ownership license to that other person. When you take the game back then YOU have to pay the fee.

Its like downloading from itunes, when you DL a song, only your ipod devices can use it. That means buying a used game will force you to buy an "online pass" for every Xbox One game you buy and for every Xbox One game you rent. That will get very expensive in a hurry.

Same principle here and I don't see a workaround.

Christ, every new system has some very very bad faults.

From what I hear a lot of people aren't digging the controller with its touchpad and motion control interface and its own dual kinect cameras.

Plus we don't know how rushed these systems are going to be, which may lead to unforseen problems (red ring of death, PS3 system bricking)

I don't like the Sixaxis aspects of the PS3 but for the most part it's not being forced down my throat.

I thought that the way it worked is that you buy a game, then it gets installed on your console, and you can play it whenever you want, and somehow microsoft remembers that you have the license.

Then if you lend it to a friend, they have to buy it, but you won't ever have to pay microsoft to play the game again. (unless somehow you delete the data that says you own a copy.)
Which would still be shitty, but not as shitty as having to re-buy the game after letting someone else play.
