He isn't even too bad in F/Z. Uryuu is much worse than Caster.

Is it wrong I was rooting for Kayneth Ell-Melloi just now? I don't dislike Saber, but Emiya's a murderer and a criminal, and while Kayneth may use some underhanded tactics, he's not evil. I don't recall him trying to murder Irisviel during Saber and Lancer's duel.

Kayneth is clearly the best character if only for the fact that he's voiced by motherfucking Yamazaki. Feels like its been forever since I've heard him in a show.

Kiritsugu isn't evil either though, he wants to use the grail to save people, he's just ruthless in his methods.

I'm not rooting for anyone because I already know what's gonna happen. Though I wonder, how do people that have not played the VN nor know of the entire story and have only seen what's been animated look at this story?

i think this is one of the more perfect anime ive seen in recent years. ive not read the VN or played any games and what not, ive only seen F/SN and i am REALLY enjoying this a lot...

each week my mind is just blown by how incredible the animation is.

Just so we're clear, no one actually gets the holy grail because in Fate/Stay Night, the war is still going on, right? It wouldn't make sense to be a new war because they take place once every 60 years.

I got the reference, just didn't realise that you were talking about the fifty years early thing because I didn't think of it as an inconsistency knowing the whole story.

There are plenty of inconsistencies in the Nasuverse, but as for Fate/Zero I think it works very well as a prequel. Fate/Zero was being written while Fate/Stay Night was still in production, and there're lots of references to events from Fate/Zero in FSN, though mostly in Heaven's Feel.

Hell, if you only watched the Animated stuff for Fate/Stay Night you wouldn't have even seen Zouken until you watched Fate/Zero, so you might think he was a new character created for Fate/Zero, but he was a main antagonist in the Heaven's Feel route of FSN, as was his True Assassin servant.

FSN was already finished before F/Z even started being made. F/Z was being written while F/H was being made.

K, I remembered the postface wrong.

Everything other than that part is still valid though, the basic template for Fate/Zero was written by Nasu alongside Fate/Stay Night before it was given to Gen to flesh it out.

I'm loving this show so far. I've not played or read any of the Fate/Zero stuff, but am an avid fan of Fate/Stay. So I'm enjoying watching the pieces fall into place that are going to set up the beginnings of Fate/Stay.

That and the animation (as has been said) has been absolutely stunning.
