New Ghost in the Shell Anime Announced For 2013!

AOTY confirmed.

No mention of SAC in the title meaning it's probably yet another alternate continuity.

No Kenji Kamiyama, instead Kazuchika Kise who appears to be an experienced animation director, but has never been the actual director for a show.

Mardock Scramble's author supervising the scripts doesn't encourage me either.

No Yoko Kanno further cements my disappointment replaced by a composer who has only worked a little on one of the Appleseed movies, oh joy.

And now we have a glimpse of Motoko's design too and it doesn't look like SAC.

If the article said 3rd Gig and mentioned the old staff I'd be approximately five billion times more hyped about this than I am now.

Waited so long for an announcement and now I can barely even describe myself as happy.

Edit: Now that I think about it this might represent an end to my hopes for more SAC since if it's successful they'll just continue with this version and if it's unsuccessful they'll take it as a sign that the franchise is no longer profitable and there'll be no more SAC anyway.

Nope is a Moe slice of life comedy

The design looks like crap. The design from SAC is great. The new design looks like some generic action show from the early 2000s.

I love SAC so much, so I went from the highest of highs to...strumming my fingers.

I really wanted SAC season 3 but I will give this a chance.

i cant believe i got even remotely excited for this a few weeks back... What have they done to motoko D: I'l give the movie a shot, but this is definitely not gonna recapture the awesomeness of the previous GiTs movies and series...

That article weeks back had nothing to do with this and mentioned no new anime btw, you read it wrong.

True, tbh after that episode that revealed how Makoto became a full cyborg (or whatever the term was, its been like 4 years since I watched STAC) Iv been curious to see just how she became the badass we all know and love

except cyborgs dont change appearances in that one episode where she find her old child body she didnt change into another body except her adult one.....so she shouldnt be looking like that yo

In the SAC continuity young full cyborgs do change bodies so that they can experience growing up like a normal person, Motoko would've gone through several, the watch she wears was given to her as a gift for her final body resizing.

But all this is irrelevant because as far as we know this isn't part of the SAC continuity at all.

aww i thought she got the watch cause she jumped from that child body to the adult one
