^ Emphasis on the easy on the eyes part. My face is about 20 inches from a 22" monitor in a darkly lit room. Viewing a website with a bright background, especially for more than a few minutes, really bothers my eyes. I have Greasemonkey or Stylish scripts installed for many of the sites I frequent that have bright backgrounds, such as YouTube, to give them a dark theme.

You don't get more traffic in a couple of weeks, let alone days.
Also if you have to realize that it's harder to get new members because the internet is full of sites / forums like these, maybe if we had made this a couple years sooner it would be easier.
