Favorite character?
Re: [Anime] Nisemonogatari
The "pointless dialogue" has nothing to do with Shaft. Keep in mind this is an adaption, not an original work. Have any of you guys read any of the original novels? If not, you can't imagine how ridiculously long-winded they can be. Just read a couple chapters and you'll see what I mean. I think Shaft is doing a great job with this series. Personally, I love all the dialogue that goes on between characters, pointless or not.RavenDW wrote:>have extended scenes of fuck all happening

Fucking Shaft.
Re: [Anime] Nisemonogatari

Re: [Anime] Nisemonogatari
I just can't enjoy it. In something like GitS when they're waxing philosophical or discussing what it means to be human, there's at least SOMETHING there. Ideas are being explained or shared. Here? I just don't get that. I don't have an issue with characters interacting and having conversations, but I feel it either has to be relatable or have a greater level of meaning. In Lucky Star and Azumanga Daioh the conversations don't have 'meaning' but they exist to establish bonds between characters and are relatable ('cause it's all normal stuff). Bake and Nise are also too tangential for me. The characters flit around too much during their dialogue, with (in my opinion) none of it meaning a great deal. If the novels are even more long-winded then I have absolutely no desire to read them. Ever.FullArmageddon wrote:Personally, I love all the dialogue that goes on between characters, pointless or not.
There are still aspects of the shows I enjoy, but most of the dialogue isn't one of them.

Re: [Anime] Nisemonogatari
The progress of an episode was that a boyfriend and girlfriend (who have been together for some time now) decided to have sex, with the statement made in the last 2 minutes. Aside from that, the plot went nowhere and nothing else happened.Destructo wrote:They finally did it.
Don't even get me started on how the episode had THREE scenes, all of which were mostly motionless frames with dialogue.

I'm assuming that you've watched Bake, so what's the problem with that? lolRavenDW wrote:The progress of an episode was that a boyfriend and girlfriend (who have been together for some time now) decided to have sex, with the statement made in the last 2 minutes. I felt like Bake was going somewhere. Araragi was going around, solving problems and building his harem. Now he's getting beaten up by his little sister not solving a damned thing. Kaiki even said the effect of the Flame Wreathe Bee would have vanished of its own accord, so 'confronting' him meant nothing.

Re: [Anime] Nisemonogatari
Ichika? You mean Koyomi? lol
And I wouldn't say that he doesn't do stuff anymore; it's just that it took 7 eps to finsih one arc. In Bake, he already finished 2 full arcs and is 2 thirds done with the 3rd arc. And for Kaiki, If he hadn't went with Hitagi to confront him, he would've used the Flame Wreathe Bee on her. But since Koyomi was there, he couldn't do shit.

Yeah. Why the fuck did I write Ichika? Anyway.Destructo wrote:Ichika? You mean Koyomi? lol

He got kidnapped by Hitagi and beat up by his sister. Pray tell, what's he going to go against a shifty charm/spell/curse peddler to stop him doing...anything? The slowness of the pace is another matter altogether, and it just reeks of padding to me. Usually shows do it inbetween actual plot elements and events, so it feels more simultaneous with what's going on rather than everything stopping for 10 minutes at a time for characters to have lengthy, extended discussions of little or no substance.
That's how I feel anyway.

Re: [Anime] Nisemonogatari
All he needed to do was be there at the scene as insurance. Besides, if anything was to get sketchy, he still has Shinobu. :3
And I'm not gonna say anything with the pacing of the show.

Re: [Anime] Nisemonogatari
So is this just more bonefuel or is this something actually interesting?
No offense, it's just the vibe I'm getting from this thread and others I've seen.

It follows the same formula as Bake, just more fanservice.

Nope.TopgunUK wrote:Mostly Bonerfuel this time around it seems.

Wanted to way back when but I didn't want to bust my balls looking for each episode individually since I couldn't find a torrent with all of them, I'll probably look now I guess.
...let's hope it won't be lost to the void of animes I still haven't watched but downloaded
