Having actually watched the scene with audio it's apparent that I should never have even worried about it and it's just patently obvious that she didn't die.

Obviously there are the tons of unresolved story threads relating to her to think of, and her prominence in promotional materials and both the OP and ED but for other reasons too, they obviously just wanted a bit of drama and a cliffhanger.

It would be so retarded if they revealed her to actually have died due to this during the next episode, I would actually be completely dumbfounded.

saazbaum is like the only compitent knight, in such that hes not really a space nazi and settling on mars wasnt that good of an idea, and killing the royal family cause they sent his wife to DIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEE~ so he wants his revenge, and taking over earth in the process is killing 2 birds with one stone

Count Tokiomi wasn't all bad (his only real redeeming quality was his actual loyalty to Hime-chan) but he was a fucking idiot.

Saazbaum is a pleasant surprise though, recognises how shitty an idea it was to choose to settle on Mars in the first place and didn't fall for the propaganda about being superior.

I guess it's the fact that the Vers Royal leadership is so retarded and greedy for control, but also in charge of who gets to activate Aldnoah that prevents the Martians from just resettling on Earth in exchange for sharing their tech (they could pay their way by giving Earth their bullshit space magic seemingly infinite clean power source).
