How likely do we think it is that the Princess actually died there?

couldve been a double, i did pause the video and someone got caught in the blast, but if she really did die i think it would have been more....dramatic or at least obvious.... but since this is anime, i bet that pendant that one dude gave her saved her through some technomagic bs lol

I don't think the necklace did anything since it's just a lucky charm from Earth and it doesn't seem like magic is a thing in this (other than super science space magic).

I assume it was a body double since they didn't show her properly from the front or show her in the car when it was riding along.

If she had actually died there I doubt they would have been able to resist showing a shot of the necklace covered in blood near her corpse or something.

Also it would be a weird use of time to establish the character like that and show her in promo material only to get rid of her right away for so little payoff in the first episode, but then someone has reminded me that the director also did Ga-Rei Zero, so who knows.

aldnoah refers to the technology that an ancient 30,000 year old civilization left behind on mars, the current martians are just filthy colonists from earth who colonized mars in the 80s after they discovered the interplanetary gates on the moon in the 70s, the colonists found the relics and claimed independence.....earth was like "lol what? nope" and fighting for the gates on the moon happened, sometime during that the martians colony dropped the fuck out of earth in 1999, earth was like "oh shit" and blew up the gate on the moon causing part of the moon to blow up, causing meteors to crash on earth and fuck up tides, the knights, now stranded on earth, ceased hostilities and retreated back into orbit but they were stranded since the gates were destroyed they ended up fighting each other for 15 years cause they are dicks and cant agree on who should lead them
