Yes is mostly because our theater had some renovations and its all fancy now with fancy reclining seats and whatnot. I have yet to obtain tickets and now Madagascar 3 is out and I imagine I will attain the same outcome *sigh*

Wow, I've never had the problem you have. Even on opening night for big movies like The Avengers, they'll just use every screen in the theater for it.

Last movie I went to see in theaters was Snow White and the Huntsman.
