I figured out why I'm having a harder time warming up to Capaldi. He's not excited anymore.

All 3 of the other Doctor's were excited to see what is out there, or at the very least fake it.

Capaldi does no such thing.

maybe it's a transition thing or it might be something with the overall arc

I've mixed feelings with this season. We haven't had a season story yet (except those tiny-mini bits of missy) but it hasn't been really good stand alone episodes either (like Blink). I like Capaldi, and i like his relationship with Clara, but i get the feeling that this whole season will only be important for the final, and then it will never be important or even mentioned again. I really hope to be wrong, but i don't know...
