can someone explain what the grail offered to kiritsugu during episode 24? i'm confused as hell.

It offered him a life with his wife and child as people. However, the cost to do so was most of the human race.

The trial showed that while he strove to save the majority each time, in the end in order to save one person, he ultimately had to sacrifice everyone else. He couldn't deal with that, so he had Saber blast the Grail to bits.

The grail then exploded and its true nature surfaced. That of destruction and death. For those are the things that ultimately power and feed it in the first place.

The Grail is quite the corrupt device. Unfortunately most of the people who learn that never live long enough to tell future mages.

So I guess that is how its going to end. I thought there would be more Saber/Emiya screen time together as he is forced to explain why he did what he did before Saber returns to the afterlife.

Ahh well. Over all I enjoyed it and after having watched the whole thing I can clearly give the double thumbs up to Rider as my favorite character of the series.

It was nice to see young Shiro too, I kind of thought they would

If Kiritsugu'd explained to Saber why he ordered the Grail destroyed before she disappeared then she wouldn't have wanted it any more.

She never knew why he did it in F/SN and she was still angry at him for it, though she was reluctant to speak ill of him in front of Shirou because he thinks so highly of his adoptive father.
