I can see why they might start fresh with the story so that new viewers can jump straight in but I don't even know for sure that it isn't following SAC's continuity yet, everything just seems to indicate that.

In any case, my problem with that is not the motivation behind it, but the fact that if it is the case then that means SAC will probably never be continued.

More importantly though, the staff has been replaced with people that I very much doubt are capable of filling their shoes, so even if it was a SAC continuation I'd have serious reservations.

I would be hopeful about an announcement like this based on its own merits if it weren't for the fact that it's crushing my pre-existing hopes and dreams for my most anticipated and desired Animu.

I will never give capcom money for that game, so I will never find out if it's actualy good. Though based on my experience with the demo, and the opinions of reviewers I trust. It looks fucking dreadful.
