Summary:
The story is set in a world embroiled by war between Humans and Demons. The Humans' greatest hero invades the Demon Queen's castle determined to vanquish her. However, instead of fighting back, the Queen proposes an alliance with the Hero. She explains how a sudden end to the war can bring further chaos to the world as the Humans once united to stand against their common enemies would eventually begin fighting among themselves, with similar issues already occurring at the Demon Realm. Convinced by her words, the Hero joins forces with the Queen and together they execute a plan to bring prosperity and a lasting peace to both Humans and Demons alike.

I prefer the manga designs...
Maou looks far better :) who wouldn't reconsider their hero position after seeing her :)

I prefered the economics heavy version where ehe explains it to him with Flipshards from one of the manga versions :)
Regrettably they are going with the romance heavy version... still Anime of the Year right there :)

the japanese 4chan ^^
the idea and design for MMY derived from the 2chan /vip/ board. specifically a discussion about Dragon Quest 2 (that's why they are called Female Swords man etc) with the topic "what if the demon lord was an economics major?" the designs and ideas where taken and used as if they were public domain and produced webcomics, 4 different mangas and now an anime.
