I think it's great how such a positively awful event like this brings people together in ignorance and stupidity. It's very telling of our species, starting with the shooting alone. One big circus.

I got this old Logitech speaker with subwoofer. Like from around 2007/8. Want to upgrade as well.

Better get a speaker-less monitor since they're generally cheaper and buy some external speakers.

Acer or Asus is good for a budget.
If you want to spend a lot there's Samsung but the picture is usually worth the money.

For speakers it depends on how you want the set up.
Logitech makes some pretty rockin 5.1 surround speakers.
