I use it together with another combo.

Use the backstab and pressing W to automatically stab the next enemy that is close and then use the knife to kill another one that is far away, lots of XP bonus

I use them too, and they feel pretty good and sound awesome too.
I normally go stealth first , at least when capturing camps because if you capture them without being detected you get 1500XP while if you do it guns blazing you only get 500XP

Got my Bow and Silenced sniper rifle for stealth and a AK variant plus a grenade launcher for when shit hits the fan.
