Genres: Comedy, Slice of Life

Synopsis: In the Usagiyama Shopping District, there is a certain shopowner's daughter named Tamako Kitashirakawa, a first year high schooler who loves mochi and the shopping district she was born and raised in. During the very hectic end of the year, a haughty bird suddenly appears. This human-speaking bird has strangely decided to freeload in Tamako's house....?






Can't fuckin wait.

Naoko Yamada (K-ON!) is directing, and Reiko Yoshida (K-ON!, Bakuman.) is in charge of the series scripts. Another K-ON! veteran, Yukiko Horiguchi (Lucky Star), is designing the characters.

Unlike K-ON! and Lucky Star, the new anime will have an original story not based on preexisting material. (The commercial and website's tagline reads, "Rice cakes, freshly pounded.") The new anime will run on the Tokyo MX TV, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, TV Aichi, and BS11 Digital channels.

Yuuki Kaneko as Midori Tokiwa, Tamako's classmate, childhood friend, and baton club member. Her grandparents work at a candy shop in the Usagiyama shopping district.
