Synopsis:

High school student Takumi Fujiwara works as a gas station attendant during the day and a delivery boy for his father's tofu shop during late nights. Little does he know that his precise driving skills and his father's modified Toyota Sprinter AE86 Trueno make him the best amateur road racer on Mt. Akina's highway. Because of this, racing groups from all over the Gunma prefecture issue challenges to Takumi to see if he really has what it takes to be a road legend.

Fifth Stage info:
New Initial D series. First episode aired November 4th, 2012.

Note: Run 2 episodes every month on the "Animax presents PPV" pay-per-view service.

Another convert! Watch in this order:

First Stage (26 episodes)
Second Stage (13 episodes)
Extra Stage (Mako&Sayuki OVA)
Third Stage (movie)
Fourth Stage (24 episodes)
Extra Stage 2 (Mako&Sayuki OVA2)
Fifth Stage

I left out Battle Stage 1 & 2 because they're just a compilation of past races. You don't have to watch Extra Stage. You won't miss any main story points. But if you like Mako and Sayuki, it's a no brainer.

Did you watch First Stage dubbed? I don't even know if they have a consistent voice actor for the different series.

Netflix are now giving us the option of Japanese with subtitles on Initial D stages 1 through 4, not sure about the stage 3 movie but I'm rewatching 4 right now, yellow subs but who really cares? SUBS ON NETFLIX!!!
