The background comes and goes for me. I thought it was for certain images at first, but then as the other pictures started to come up the background wouldn't even be there like before. It seems to be always up now, though.

Same here. At the moment the background is empty white. They buttons on top are just clickable links without a picture

I think that's a problem of having them hosted on imgur atm.
But most of the images before were also uploaded there.

Yeah, I just tested it with firebug. Some issues revolving around it would be the buttons hard jutting into most pictures due to no shadowing and the big vanilla colored quote boxes cutting up all the images. Perhaps they could be made transparent or make them less opaque?

Something for much farther down the road.
