It is. And there's a voice patch that gives the game full voice.

That's confused me, the way I've heard it talked about it on /a/ has given me the impression it is untranslated.
Must've mixed it up with something else.

There are like 2 other demonbane games also. I'll wait for Topgu if he wants to join in.
It's suppose to have like the most OP character ever.

Hope they finish it.Wing wrote:UnknownDepth wrote:Is Princess Lover translation?
Where the VN god when you need him?
Seems like the fan translation died about three years ago. At this point, I doubt it will get an English translation, but it's not impossible.

Re: Help & Recommendations - Post Questions Here
Hey everyone,
I'm planning on getting into Visual Novels but I dont know Japanese, either spoken or written, with this in mind, would you guys recommend I pursue this interest? and if so, what resources are at hand to let me torrent and translate them?

Re: Help & Recommendations - Post Questions Here
I suppose I'll post here rather than making a new thread for it.
After playing Katawa Shoujo and I've been thinking if anyone else shares this thought regarding these VNs with multiple heroines. After you've finished a route and move on to the next one does anyone else feel like you're "betraying" the previous character? I mean like after you've witnessed the drama and anguish that happens and how you helped "fix" her then afterwards to go to a different route you just purposely ignore the previous girl while knowing all of the preceding events that transpired in her route.
Hopefully I'll be less bothered about this after I've playing a few more VNs but I just thought kind of sucks that you can't really "save" everyone.

Re: Help & Recommendations - Post Questions Here
I haven't read many VNs and half of those that I have read didn't follow the typical multiple girl/route structure, but I've still gotten a little of that.
I suspect it's a common feeling.
And as for the shounen protagonist wanting to save everyone thing, that can be as much, if not more of a problem in the VNs with less actual choice/routes.
You self insert into a main character and you're given a degree of (however limited) control over how events in the story transpire which makes you feel some level of responsibility, then there'll be characters you have absolutely no way of saving.
*cough* MLA *cough*

Re: Help & Recommendations - Post Questions Here
Some VNs handle the branching plot and character routes in fairly creative ways.
Sharin no Kuni has you go through the entirety of the story, regardless of which heroine you gravitate towards, so you don't really feel that any character has been forsaken for another.
Other VNs consider them all "what-if" stories, leaving a "true" route as canon, and sometimes addressing the other heroines woes through that.
Having said that, I've gotten the same feels.

I'd much prefer something like that, having the option to help all the heroines even though you don't pick them as a love interest.Wing wrote:

Got another question:
I'm thinking of playing Muv Luv Alternative. Do I need to play the other related games first?

Re: Help & Recommendations - Post Questions Here
Pretty much, yes.
Unlimited is unlocked after you finish the two main routes of Extra.
On its own Extra would be a very mediocre VN, but once you unlock Unlimited it gets a lot more interesting, then Alternative takes off from there.
Edit:
TL Note: Pretty much means definitely. Do not consider going for MLA before Extra+Unlimited.

What about Kimi ga Nozomu Eien? Supposedly this series is connected as well?

While you don't NEED to play Extra/Unlimited first, it's very-extremely-strongly-entirely recommended that you do.saintcross wrote:Got another question:

Muv-Luv contains the first two parts of the trilogy and you'll be missing out on quite a bit if you decide to pass on them.
Extra is the first part and it has a bad rep primarily because it's the first and worst part of the series. It's a slice-of-life RomCom. It doesn't really have any surprises or moments that stand out (good ones anyway). I'm not saying it's awful; it's just so average and expected in a lot of ways that it wouldn't be memorable on its own. Unlimited is the second part and it's unlocked after you complete the Extra routes for Sumika and Meiya, the two mainest of the main heroines. The other heroines aren't essential, but of course, you'll get some interesting bits by going through their stories as well. Unlimited is where it'll pick up and you should be perfectly engaged by then.
If you're gonna read Alternative, you should be in it for the long haul. If you don't read Extra/Unlimited first you may regret it later.
EDIT: Read Sam's post. It's a good version of mine. I should hire Sam as my forum post editor.
A lot of Age titles share characters and setting. It has the main heroines as characters in the game, but it's in no way essential. I haven't read it because it isn't translated but I've heard the anime adaptation is pretty good. That one's entirely up to you.saintcross wrote:What about Kimi ga Nozomu Eien?
