Log Horizon: 1 & 2 (2nd season HYPE, Stand aside SAO/edgelords, a better anime is in town)

first impressions: the anime isnt that edgy by the looks of it, and it seems like what sao was before it became shit in the 2nd arc, the main character doesnt seem to be angsty either, in any case it seems interesting enough to keep watching

So far it's better than SAO because it doesn't give off this sort of atmosphere.


I wouldn't compare them to each other. This is more lighthearted.

i really like it, its got more of an mmo feel that sao did and a lot less drama

Only watched one episode of SAO, but this Beats SAO to a bloody pulp and calls it a bitch. By which I mean its better

I don't know why, but I absolutely love this show, but I quite liked SAO as well due to it's fast pacing (that seemed to be why some people hated it because it was jumping all over the place and was hard to follow, but I thought it was set up perfectly). Hope it lasts a while, other than the initial "getting stuck in a virtual world" idea, it really isn't that much like SAO at all.

Final verdict: mediocre. It started off quite interesting but the plot never really moved and by the final few episodes it just sunk.

guy who made it is the same person who did maoyuu maou yuusha, and that anime was heavy on the econcomics, and lots of talking

Nothing wrong with talking and economics, as long as it gets somewhere. This show was just talking for the sake of talking, very little actual substance.

I also hated the portrayal of Shiroe. I want someone to be cool/clever/smart etc. because he does something in the show that makes me think of him that way ( hello Yagami Light), rather than just because the other characters keep saying he is. I want to see an awesome thought process rather than a result and "heh I did it because I'm cool like that"

These are basically the exact reasons why I didn't like it either. Way too much dialogue with no actual substance, essentially there to continue meandering and kill time. Honestly, most of the time I didn't give a shit about what they were talking about and in the end it never really mattered/ affected the main plot. Also agreed on the Shiroe points as well.

I'll give season 2 a shot after it finishes airing, unless it gets really bad ratings or I don't care at that point.

Started watching season 1. Just finished episode 6. It's pretty decent so far. This show keeps hyping up Debauchery Tea Party to have been an amazingly incredible team of unique individuals. I hope to see more of their legacy and past adventures.

Naotsugu and Akatsuki's schtick is already annoying, and I'm glad Serara's arc is over, too. She's fuckin annoying. :3
