but like minecraft you might get bored of it really fast if you're playing alone.

are you a explorer type of guy ? maybe the guys that got owned by him explore every corner, his location isn't that easy to find, at least it didn't seem like it

also, can you parry boss attacks ?

I guess I'm an explorer type of guy, but I don't remember the Capra Demon being out of the way.

I shat myself when I happened upon him but managed to panic-kill the dogs and get past him pretty easily, wasn't difficult from there.

I assume you can parry boss attacks but I've never tried since I'm shit with the timing against even normal enemies, blocking is just a far safer bet.

I didn't even know how to parry until maybe 10 hours of gameplay after fighting the Capra Demon.

from what i have seen blocking seems counter productive since it takes out stamina that you need for attacking.
i would rather go 2h and keep distance, but it would be good to have a shield when approaching ranged mobs.

but i'm only talking from what i have seen so far of the game, i haven't played it myself yet

I don't know if it's just because I'm not using a shield meant for parrying but almost every time I try to parry I get hit several times before I successfully parry once, and even then I sometimes hit back their attack and miss the timing for the actual critical hit.

I'll gladly worry about stamina management with dodging/blocking over losing half my health with parrying.

I switch between one and two handed a lot though, don't need to block when your first attack one shots them.
