So... Fairy Tail is coming back?

Fairy Tail only went on hiatus a few months ago, but they've already announced they're working on it coming back, so could be back the season after next, or maybe later?

Anyway, I don't read the manga, but I'm aware that they did a massive amount of chapters at some point recently. Anyone know how many chapters they released? And how many they release normally? Because I thought they had caught up the manga A LOT when it went on a break?

The anime finished during the Grand Magic Games and the manga just finished that arc like a month ago. So anime only has around 40 new chapters to use so far. Though the manga does come out weekly.

I'm not expecting it to come back this soon.

I'm expecting Bleach to come back before FT does.

I restarted Fairy Tail. I used to think it was a One Piece ripoff because of the art style, but now I don't even see the similarities anymore. I actually like the fantasy theme as it's not widely used anymore in anime. I don't know why they made each Wizard a specialist of one element. That does remind me of One Piece where most fruit users have one fruit. Normally a wizard is a well taught scholar versed in many different forms of magic. But the character's backgrounds make some sense of their magic's origin and the spells are the best part of the series. They are HUGE and flashy. I like Fairy Tail a lot now, and it's hilarious too. The episode where they all change bodies and magic had me rolling.

I think the comparison is more to do with Natsu and Luffy's personalities, and also the emphasis on protecting/avenging companions.

It is back in April 2014, sweet! I think they did some sort of Manga blowout a few weeks ago? Like they had loads of chapters released at once, but personally I'd rather wait than have to suffer through fillers.
