First ep absolutely crushed all of my expectations. Just crushed them all.

what is there to expect from it?

the episode blew me away in many ways.

not sure is crushed expectations is a good thing?

But really, though. I was expecting Arararagi to basically walk around town, talk to some characters for half the episode, the other half be stills, some headtilts here and there, and the good foreshadowing of the conflict relevant to the arc. That would've been a 10/10 already. But nope. Instead, we got Hanekawa being the focus of this episode with her running into Mayoi and conversing about her kidnapping like it's no biggie and spending the rest of the episode with fucking Hitagi. Easily the most refreshing thing to watch since we've never seen the two talk to each other like that ever. And seeing a side of Hitagi that we've never seen before was just incredible. And the purple stills! Who would've thought of that!

Absolutely fantastic episode. Just fantastic. Araragi can stay gone forever and I wouldn't mind.
