It seems like a conspiracy whenever the CEO gives arbitrary statistics to try to prove that the ps3 is the best.

Wait so on top of paying Verizon for my internet connection I have to play Sony to yell at people online. I don't get it I don't have to pay to play BF3 on my PC online so wtf. With that said only game I would play online would be something like Demon Souls / Dark Souls

it is ps plus, you need ps plus to play games online, and you get all the features you get from ps plus, which is more than what microsoft offers through live

And I actually find it hilarious that whiskers thinks they "turned on their customers" by making PS+ a requirement for online play.

to be fair the system is 200 dollars cheaper than the ps3 at launch, thats like 4 years worth of ps plus to be equivalent to the ps3 price at launch, honestly even i can afford that monthly sub especially at less than 5 dollars a month

I really think Sony is subsidizing the price of the PS4 into the PS+ service and that's why they're charging for online play now.

I'm not too happy about it but I've been planning to buy PS+ anyway.

You really can't expect them to give you everything you want, free of charge.

I also want a 700 series card for free, but unfortunately, nvidia is making me pay for it.

The level of data usage for the service is only going to increase, and seeing as Sony has already shown that they've used that money both to give a lot of value to consumers as well as investing it back into the service itself, it isn't a bad idea at all to the majority.

It would be STUPID of them to not charge a measly <$5 per month to put back into their online infrastructure.

2006: "lol the ps3 sucks and has no games. It can't do anything. Xbox 360 rules."

2013: "lol the xbone sucks and only plays TV sports and COD. It can't do anything. PS4 rules."

I bet Microsoft is scrambling to copy Sony's DRM policies in order to win back consumers, but I think around that point, no one is willing to listen to them. Also, I heard that someone from Microsoft tried to prevent Sony from showing their games and exclusive titles by bribing one of their spokespersons.

That isn't true at all. They're profiting from the hardware at the current pricing model. Without PS+. Careful when you make baseless claims.

I don't mind paying for online, didn't mind it up until a certain point on live way back when. I mean on the PC people have done it with MMO's and that was much more a month. I don't see the whole big deal with it being less than 5 a month.

It's a shame that online won't be free for the ps4, but I think getting a PS+ subscription won't be that bad.
