Nintendo is not going to host an E3 press conference this year.

This screams that Nintendo doesnt know how to Market the WiiU to sell and are having trouble.

This is a bad move on nintendo's part as much of the years media buzz (For the non gamer) is generated at e3 and now nintendo will be ignored.

for the gamers, for non gamers any showing at Jimmy Fallon or some mainstream show can generate enough buzzword.

I don't think people even realize we have f'ing conventions for video games.

and nintendo already announced what they were gonna announce at the nintendo direct thing. even if they did show up they'd be just reiterating themselves.

You guys are underestimating the power of E3 sales wise. Even people who play games on a regular basis don't watch every damn convention/showing and rely solely on E3 for the big showcase.

Think of it as people who like American football but are not that in love with it to watch every game in the season but they watch the Super Bowl every year.

It's a fucking stupid move for Nintendo, though.

With the PS4 making a heavy showing as well as the next Xbox; Nintendo needed to use this opportunity to showcase the WiiU with some games to help generate hype and more importantly sales.

By showing what's going on through their Nintendo Direct shit they're just showing it to their existing fans and narrowing the amount attention on their new games.

E3 is a major event that's not just paid attention to by us gamers.
I've seen it being discussed on the morning news by old fucks who still think Pac-Man is still a thing.
