It's a thirdperson/firstperson shooter where you fight bugs, bandits and some weird alien faction which i can't remember the name now and mining / getting resources.
Quests/Missions are GW2 style with events appearing on the map, they don't stay there forever though, once it's done it's gone and new missions just randomly spawn on the map

It's still in Beta and development though
