I'm just sad because it seemed so goddamn easy to make the combat more interesting with some more vigor using enemy types.
And maybe for them to actually keep their word on some of the promises they made years ago.
Remember when they said that Songbird would attack you at complete random? Now he is never a threat to you at all and only shows up in 3 or 4 cutscenes. You don't even get to fight him but you get to fight Madame Tanky McHealthbar and her Spook Troop three times in succession.
And maybe for them to actually keep their word on some of the promises they made years ago.

Speaking of which, that's another fight that was somehow a lot more difficult when I was rushing through on easy than it was on medium.

I think not allowing you to fight Songbird was an appropriate decision. It's not supposed to be just another boss for you to take down, an enemy to get rid of. As a construct, it lies beyond your reach and your power to do anything about it. In RPG terms, having to fight it, would be to "stat" it. It'd be like trying to fight and win against Cthulhu, even though he could crush you with a mere thought.

I was thinking about it, and how about they never give me control over Songbird and Booker ends up hijacking a Vox Zeppelin, fight his way to the top while using it's weapons to get songbird to fuck off while fighting him and the Vox on some open platforms.
And when you get to the controls you FUCKING RAM THE THING IN THAT FEATHERFUCKS FACE AND INTO THE SIPHON as Booker jumps out expecting to fall to his death but the destruction of the Siphon gives Elizabeth her powers and she saves you at the last minute. Then it turns out that getting rammed in the face with a FUCKING Zeppelin into an explosive towering statue didn't kill Songbird and he charges at you, AND THEN the ending continues exactly as it did in the game already.

They wanted Elizabeth dead anyway to ensure Comstock's prophecy is completely fucked over so protecting her could've been enough motivation for fighting them the rest of the time.
When you're on Comstock's airship they don't know he's dead and they talk to him over the speakers and outright say that he wanted to put his daughter on a throne but they'll put her in a grave

Well I get what you mean, the game was pushing the "Power Corrupts" theme a lot throughout the game.
