I've been getting MUCH better at using choppers.


...still only have 23 points from a kill assist by accident for jets...never getting those flares with every other motherfucker in the sky being max level.

I don't see how that is, though. I think some of the spawn points are close together because of the bleeding system. If they weren't have tugs of war would be impossible. Whoever got 3 first would win.

They don't.
They've been getting better about that. It only took a week for everybody to realize that the team with the most people in squads always wins by a massive number of tickets.

I agree on your response to Kyu-chan's "searchfield" comment though.

they've added SO MANY WAYS to get back into the fight since Battlefield 2 and further back.

Spawn on the point.
Spawn on ANY squad mate.
Spawn further away and you can just take a jeep.
And you can autospawn into tanks, choppers, and jets.

I'm rarely getting left behind as much as the older games.

Arica Harbor wasn't the norm for objective placement, though. Panama Canal had all it's objectives on one city block and there were no vehicles, other than the one ATV each team got. Only Harvest Day and Heavy Metal had spawn points 15 kilometers away from each other.

That said, I don't get how Q can have so much fun with BC2 and so little with BF3 when BC2's larger maps had its spawn points at about the same distances, but fewer of them. Unless he's only been playing deathmatch. If that's the case, you're playing Battlefield for all the wrong reasons. It's about warfare, not killing shit.

I don't see how teamwork incentive is heightened just by having spawns further apart. Since you can spawn practically anywhere in BF3 and the recon class has all manner of crazy sci-fi tools, it wouldn't be that difficult to keep vehicles away by just throwing engineers at the problem. The longer they have to cruise to their destination, the more vulnerable they are. By having more objectives up for grabs at the cost of a bit of space between them, the vehicles can pose a constant threat to multiple objectives, keeping everybody on their toes. The bleeding system is the incentive for teamwork here; if something isn't done to lock down three objectives, then kill streaks are only of limited worth.

Yeah when someone can spawn anywhere they wan't suddenly the thought of being killed isn't as bad as before.
Maybe it wasn't the spawns being too far away, maybe it was the community itself that it was better a couple of years ago.
Tanks are only more vulnerable with longer travel with the recent game, with all the laser guided crap they give us, but either way there's a counter for everything in this case smoke screen and/or good team mates.

Tanks where good in Desert Combat even with long maps.
