That's kinda ridiculous.

I don't think the rule should be enforced 100%, I think posts that don't meet the 10 character requirement can be freely deleted at the discretion of the moderators, due to that rule.

(Though I suppose a universal crackdown will show that the rule should be taken seriously... and will potentially eliminate expressed favoritism.)

Well it is, because it's a rule. This isn't up for debate.

That's pretty fucking extremely lame.

And everything is up for debate so long as people can talk. You might not listen to me, but as long as anyone is able to post here, they are able to question things.
Do you want to make a rule about not questioning the rules? That'd be fun.

I understand the desire to eliminate poorly thought-out posts... but theoretically, people can maintain a good conversation, or do some other important things in which a post with fewer than 10 characters is ideal.
Like if someone has proposed a little mini-survey thing... should they have to make a new thread with a new poll when they just want a yes/no answer for their question?
What about if conversation is at a standstill, and someone comes in, and wants to strike up conversation, but doesn't have a topic at hand... should we absolutely prohibit them from using a greeting that is fewer than ten characters, but accomplishes the exact same thing as a greeting with more?

Shit posts and meaningful posts come in all sizes... and I think this rule (keep in mind that not even governments enforce every single law with extreme prejudice) should just be a meaningful way to streamline deleting posts that are shitty AND short without a huge explanation from mods.
