You have to admit that calling it the Xbox 3 or anything else would kinda be weird.

They could go Matrix on it and call it Xbox Revolution or something :D

The 360 is called 360 because that's 360 degrees, full circle, all encompassing experience, that kind of shit.

If they arbitrarily double that number the meaning will be gone and it'll also make people associate it with 720p which isn't its highest resolution.

They should do what Nintendo did and just add a letter.

Microsoft obviously intended for that to be the meaning of the 360, but in naming it that they kinda put themselves in a bind on what to name the next gen console.

So (in my all knowing and brilliant mind) they would just go with the logical and heavily accepted name of the Xbox 720.

Yeah they could go with xbox 3 or some other name, but I think with the high expectation of it being called the 720 already, they would just go with that.

Or name it something completely retarded that no one thought about.

As for the 720p thing. I doubt it. With it being launched in the same gen as the Wii U and PS4 it's expected to have the same, if not better, resolution and graphics quality of the other 2 consoles.

It won't be 720.

And people don't expect it to be 720, 720 is a joke.
