RPG Fighter...Soul Calibur 3 did it pretty good. This could work. i like it.

RPG open world brawler with random encounters that transition into battle modes like normal fighters

You go though an person story mode. You level up your person form each fight. Given them new stuff like moves,clothes, and etc.

Fighter X sounds like an good name for it.
It sound have an anime mix with normal game style.
