Doujin SteamDemo Sundays: Archive Thread

Post by IeptBarakat on Sun Aug 26, 2012 10:38 pm

Very infrequently I try to bring niche glorious nippon games that are hidden in Steam to the spotlight. I call this "Doujin SteamDemo Sundays" It's not a review, it's a glimpse. As you get to play a demo afterwards.

August 26th, 2012

A boring sunday has met with the return of Doujin SteamDemo Sundays, for how long? Who knows.

This Sunday's Demo of choice is Gundemonium Recollection, a sidescrolling shoot em' up(Bullet Hell) game from Rockin' Android. The demo features two magical girls to fight against an onslaught of monsters that has invaded. It features the original soundtrack and an arranged soundtrack created by 'DM Ashura.' The game is relaxing in low difficulties and a fun challenge in higher difficulties. It works with keyboard controls and my 360 controller. I recommend checking it out.

The game is $3.99 and part of a $9.99 collection with demo's I'll show at a later time.

See you next Sunday.

Quick Archives.

March 04, 2012: Satazius:

The horizontal scrolling sci-fi schmup Satazius has been available on Steam for a while. I recently tried it out and it was quite challenging. The demo downloads extremely quick and has two stages of moderate length with a bunch of weapon variations to try. I also recommend plugging in a usb controller if you have one. Support these games on Steam if you can!

March 11, 2012: Fortune Summoners:

A sidescrolling dungeon rpg exploration game where in standard Carpe Fulgur style you control a little girl in a generic poking funingly RPG world. The Demo took about a minute or two to download and 2 hours to play through the demo. Mostly due to dialogue and backtracking. A fun game to try out if you have the time.

This Sunday's game is Analog: A hate story, which is a visual novel about solving the mysteries of the derelict Korean colony ship, "Mugunghwa" floating in deep space. To guide you on this endeavor is the ship's AI, Hyun-ae, a personality with a dark past. This ship log reading game is a deep emotional thrill ride with multiple endings, and "people" to pursue.

I enjoyed the demo and would consider a purchase.

⑨ day

"Cladun X2 is a hack n' slash dungeon crawler with a retro RPG finish and a nearly infinite level of character customization." I played the demo earlier, it's rather fun. The game has psp roots so the native resolution is small, make sure you enlarge it in the game options. The game full of retro flare and contains a nice original soundtrack and a retro themed soundtrack to go alongside with the graphics. It's basically 3D dot game heroes, but 2D.

The game can perform poorly if you have vertical sync on, which is enabled by defaut.

Link to store page and Demo.
