so what provides danger close heavy artillery support? i mean hell gunships have been used since the vietnam war by equipping 3x12.7mm miniguns on a c-47 skytrain, even going as far as to nickname the ac-47s puff the magic dragon cause of the roar and smoke and tracer fire from the 3 miniguns

The Navy, tanks, Mobile missile launchers, attack helicopters, etc. They don't use Plane Gunships for the same reason they don't use Fighter Jets (lazorz) but TSFs have armaments that wouldn't look out of place on gunships anyway, there's just no TSF named for the AC-130 yet, the A-10 is a rare exception, most are named for Fighters.

Yep.

Yep, but they're usually in the rear so the other BETA form a wall to cover ground targets, they only really use Helicopters after neutralising any Lasers in the area.
