Greetings everyone! A quick description as I first started this game, and are slowly falling in love with it! As I delve deeper, my passion in RP sparks out, and thus leading me to find this brand new Cabal. So I will run through a little history of ECHELON.

Übermensch - Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche

The German prefix über can have connotations of superiority, transcendence, excessiveness, or intensity, depending on the words to which it is prepended. Mensch refers to a member of the human species, rather than to a male specifically. The adjective übermenschlich means super-human, in the sense of beyond human strength or out of proportion to humanity.

Axis Philosophical Bureaucracy (1937)

The term Übermensch was used frequently by Hitler and the Nazi regime to describe their idea of an Aryan master race; a form of Nietzsche's Übermensch became a philosophical foundation for the National Socialist ideas.

With the firm alliance with Japan of the Axis Power, the two great country utilized the concept and starts out the Superhuman Transcendence Project, and thus founded the Axis Philosophical Bureaucracy by Elise Kaufmann and Kosaka Sakamoto in 1937 in order to attempt their effort in advance human research in order to conquer the world. However, with the little luck and the lack of resources due to the war effort, the project was on halt in 1943.

Gentlemen Committee (1947)

With World War II ended on a failure note for the Axis Power, the project was discovered in the late 1945 by the Allies, thus, a group named the Gentlemen Committee; a secret group of the wealthiest, most powerful minds from the United States and United Kingdom, formed after World War II. The Gentlemen Committee originally sought to use their incredible resources and powerful influence to steer world history away from brutal, needless warfare. They took in Dr. Sakamoto and Kaufmann to lead their Superhuman and Supernatural Research (SSR) in lieu of continuing to be able to create their very first superhuman through nuclear exposure in 1951 that developed several mutated features, ESP and psychic abilities.

They succeeded.

ECHELON (CIA Counterintelligence and Clandestine Sub-branch) (1954)

During the Cold War, the Central Intelligence Agency took over the project not shortly after the Korean War, in order to find solution of not risking many valuable men and women for their espionage and missions against the Soviet Union. Thus, they sent their operatives to gather intelligence through clandestine and counterintelligence against their enemy. In the due time, the operations started to spiral out of control, as the CIA started to utilize ECHELON for assassination operations.

Dissolution of ECHELON in America (1975)

ECHELON operated discretely under the guidance of the CIA until the Watergate Scandal, which involved several activities committed by the CIA, which leaks out about how they were performing experiments upon people with nuclear exposure, including ECHELON.

Congress responded to the disturbing charges in 1975, investigating the CIA in the Senate via the Church Committee. In addition, President Gerald Ford created the Rockefeller Commission, and issued an executive order prohibiting the assassination of foreign leaders. During the investigation, Schlesinger's successor as DCI, William Colby, testified before Congress on 32 occasions in 1975, including about the "Family Jewels". Colby later stated that he believed that providing Congress with this information was the correct thing to do, and ultimately in the CIA's own interests. As the CIA fell out of favor with the public, they dissolved ECHELON and its projects.

ECHELON Legacy

ECHELON's legacy was carried on after the death of Kosaka Sakamoto, as her successors and descendant, and as well as former ECHELON agents eventually came in involvement with the project's legacy, migrating within different countries all around the world offering the Superhuman Project in hope of different agencies would take them in and appreciate its potential.

ECHELON Resurrection in Britain (2012)

With the growing of strange and supernatural phenomenon occurring in the recent years, finally, an ancient organization dated back during the Babylon civilization has caught wind of the legacy, and with the aid of one of the few remnant of the Gentleman Committee in Britain, ECHELON was reintroduced, and now performing as a sub-division of the Templar in order to battle against the current phenomenon, led by a former US Marine, and a descendant of Kosaka Sakamoto. With the appropriate funding and power, Nanase Sakamoto went out there and search for more potential superhuman and recruit for the ECHELON.

GOALS

Our goals within the Roleplaying community and affectionately The Secret World is that we strive to develop our characters. ECHELON is here to help that cause, as for individual character development, and give each players their own sense of uniqueness with the supernatural abilities within The Secret World. They will interact with the communities, run quests, missions, roleplay, PvP, endgame, and most importantly having fun. We will host occasional community events, and in hope that it will become yet another successful guild / cabal.
What are the intentions and future of the ECHELON, now that they are in power? Unravel the mysteries by your own actions and individual development, your voice does matter!
ECHELON now opens up more for their own opportunities, as supernatural research and discovery are still there, but they developed into more current and modern tactics to tackle their enemies, does it involve Romance, Drama, Sex, Friendship, Loyalties, Absolution? Definitely, and the choice is yours. Do not be bound or restricted by anything, but take it as social realism.

LAWS

Be in Templar uniform only during ceremonial, important meeting, and formal purposes, always keep a high standard.
Other clothing are accepted, however once more, high standard.
Follow the billet ranking via Cabal, not the official Templar ranking. You may address high ranking Templar members as their appropriate rank outside, but on duties, everyone must respect each other's billet.
Be appropriate in both communication, and respectful at all times.
Dissension with another ECHELON member? Work it out in between the individuals. If not, take it up to the superior.
Social interactions are encouraged.
OOC cabal chat are permitted.
ERPing are permitted, but must take it in private.
