Planetside 2 - The AF Gathering

Well, with [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] about to arrive, time to gather AFers for our gaming nights.


We'll decide on a server together, but first, we have to make a vote with which factions that everyone decides to play so we can make a final decision.

I'll start:

New Conglomerate or Terrain Republic.

Can we get some factual information about each faction's benefits and downfalls?

I dont have the game yet, but im willing to join in on the fun.

New Conglomerate has more firing power and defense.

Terrain Republic has more speed and shit more bullets; their guns has more ammunition.

Vanu Sovereignty has maneuverability and alien technology, gives them less gravitational pull when they shoot.

New Conglomerate has the best music.

i don't have the game installed at the moment though, had to make some room for AC3

What's everyone's favorite classes and role?

I prefer Engineer for support and flying my rocket pods Reaver and Galaxy transport.

Pretty much anything logistical.

Medic

I like Medic too, but I like to send constant led flying down the range, additionally seeing +10 +10 +10 every few seconds within a fire fight.

Liberator pilot, mosquito pilot, prowler driver, and heavy assault

Once the new patch comes out with the global SC unlocks. I'm thinking of re-rolling to TR on I suppose "Sol Tech" server?

I hope it's TR favored.

Anyways, I was mostly an engineer that specializes in liberator piloting. I had low fps in the beta.

We locked Amerish last night and almost locked Indar as well

I have several people in my outfit on Sol Tech now. We use skype whenever we're playing, join us.

I'm just going to say that I probably won't be joining until I can get the game to run over 10fps again.

The cpu is really below minimum requirements. If you really must know..

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit)
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4000+ (2 CPUs), ~2.7GHz
Memory: 2048MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 11
Card name: AMD Radeon HD 6700 Series

During the beta I could only get a steady framerate if I only ran the game and teamspeak. Other programs just bog down the cpu performance.

a dual core, I'm surprised it could even run :o

it's easily one of the most demanding games ever, lol

The game is heavily CPU demanding, not so much on GPU.
My quad core can still run the game at medium with decent frames, but like Tribes i play with everything on low. The less crappy effects blocking my vision the better.

I just overclocked my amd 1090T to 3.8Ghz I want to test it out now, :D

Seeing how the game is mostly cpu demanding, most of the graphics settings don't touch my performance. So as long as I can free up cpu usage I'm guaranteed more fps at any setting.
