Synopsis: "I've made up my mind! I'm going to steal that ship!"

All source of life originates from the Grand Lake.

At this very sacred lake, the battle between the Ades Federation and the Turan Kingdom has just begun. The Ades Federation, armed with massive battleships and its sights set on conquering the world, declares war on the Turan Kingdom. With the Federation's troops encroaching on their beloved country, Turan now lies on the brink of collapse. As this is happening, the princesses of Turan look on as a small vanship named Vespa cruises above their heads.

"We shall now commandeer your flagship and take her from this battlefield. The choice is yours. Die here, or survive with us Sky Pirates!"
The Vespa continues to weave through the barrage of bombs, while the fleets of the Federation close in on Turan.

What are the motives of Luscinia, the man leading the Ades Federation into the war? And what is the secret behind 'Exile'?

4 episodes in and im enjoying it so far. i loved Last Exile, and this is proving to be just as interesting if not even more so. its rare to find steam punk themes in anything, so that stands out for me.

anyone else liking this so far?

I will eventually get to watching this after I get done watching the original. I am through the first 10 episodes of the original.

I have heard that it is good, but not as good as the original. Anyone care to comment?

Ive really been enjoying this show. I love the designs and the show itself has some good characters and great pacing and flow.

I really want to see more of Gracies. We already have them speaking Russian, and they're said to be isolationists. I want to see what else is there in terms of echos of our own world.

There's a recap episode in the middle of the second season that goes over the entire first series. Does a pretty good job of it.

Finished. Still not sure exactly what Luscinia had in mind by bringing all those ships aboard the Grand Exile. Looks like he was trying to goad the fleets into getting aboard the exile to take everybody to a new, less resource-strapped world. If he indeed ran out of propulsion to get it done (explains why the thing crashed), then I can buy it. But that just takes the military and 3 royals off the planet, leaving their respective nations completely behind.
