What do you think is better/prefer?

1)Video games based on an anime series or 2)An anime series based on a video games

example: 1)DBZ games 2) valkyria chronicles anime

I prefer the latter but both are good

which one and why?

I only ever liked 2 of the SNES dbz game that came out and the DBGT fighting game that never got localized on PS1. Never understood the love for the ones that came out on PS2 and on.

As for VC I would've totally prefer if the manga version of it got animated.

Overall I'd prefer which ever one that did a quality version of whatever direction they took. Since I'm selfish and desire the most out of the project.

I'd take the games, because usually there is too many concessions that need to be made in making the anime from a game. See Tales of titles.

Soul Calibur anime would be cool, but thinking to what Keck282 says anime would be limited.

It would depend. Fighting games can have a competent anime, but they tend to adapt RPGs because the story is there, but they always tend to leave out or change key details that make the story compelling.

interesting, if so I think tekken would work as there have tekken movies so converting wouldn't be so hard.

You don't necessarily need to have a series. The Street Fighter II V anime was interesting, but not that great. Tekken really doesn't need to go any farther than a movie, because the plot of the games is so crazy already that you don't need to explain it and further.
