No there isn't a remake coming, I watched the old one on Netflix.



I had read a dozen or so chapters of the manga, so even though the movie was somewhat different, I knew what to expect. Compared to the manga, the movie had such fast pacing, it was hard to keep everything straight, who was dying, and for what reason, but I kept asking myself why? Why are all these teenagers killing each other? Yes they were forced to, but why are the adults forcing them? There's some exposition in the beginning about youths getting violent and the Millenium Educational Reform Act or BR ACT being put into place, but I find it all hard to believe.

Still, it was a good movie, and I found myself rooting for certain key players of the game. Who else has watched or read Battle Royale here?
