Baccano! Empty Baccano!

Baccano! Baccanocoverwallpaper

Episodes:
13 TV
3 OVA

Synopsis:
Baccano! (which translates to "ruckus" or "stupid commotion") focuses on the stories of different characters in the Prohibition Era of America. Originating back to 1711, a group of alchemists seeking eternal youth are given a special potion by a mysterious demon, making them immortal. However, alchemists began disappearing, and realizing the danger of being close to one another they scatter around the world.

Now in the 1930's, all of the immortals have come together once again. Baccano! tells the stories of each of these immortals, ranging from alchemists, street gangs, thieves, FBI agents and even the mafia.

Story:
The Story Elements are very well done. The story is told in retrospect and interloops events of different times and places telling a coherent story.
The main places are the train 'Flying Pussyfoot' and New York where the train is headed. Both areas feature quite an extensive amount of locales.
The first 13 episodes highlight especially the story of the immortals from their creation decades ago to the conclusion of the main incident of the Flying Pussyfoot.
The story is decently paced and even if the episodes do not follow a strict timeline approach and weave past events together with present events regularly, they story is never confusing or boring. In itself the story is mostly told by concentrating on one of the main characters at a time and how he or she percieves the current events. Often the same events are viewed by different persons and provide through this very different experiences for the viewer.

Characters:
The anime features a large and varied set of well-thought-out characters which are rather memorable.
Rail Tracer a legendary Monster,
a set of good alchemists and a very evil one,
lots of mafia so good some rather evil also a group of homicidal ones,
a small gang of rather nice terrorists :),
a heavily armed newspaper company,
a homunculus,
an immortal scared scheming brat,
secret government agencies,
The bloody best Thieves Duo ever created!

Artstyle:
The animation budget for this one must have been large. I don't think there are any artefacts in it at all.
Everything looks sharp and very well done, a complete masterpiece.

Sound

Rating:
10/10
Easily one of the best animes ever created

Pretty good review, just as expected out of a 5 year-old.

How's the soundtrack for this? Don't like that they're immortal though. I might watch it.

The soundtrack for Baccano is probably one of its best aspects, a lot of focus on Jazz, Blues and the like. Also iirc there were only a few characters that were immortal.

It was a cool show. I hated that guy with the tattoo on his face, though.
