If you like to write poems, an aspiring rapper, have a verse from a song you found deep, or a song that leaves you like:
Poetic Justice 352-whoa

and want discuss it, this is the place. Please be open-minded and give a song posted or a poem typed a listen/read, who knows you might like it tehe

Time to start with the elephant in the room. Here is one from the Christian rapper Lacrae that I found pretty interesting as him and others rap about misconceptions about the church and their teachings.

this is a good song for both secular and non-secular as it gives the secular some clarification and the non-secular some insight on how they should be.

Here is a verse from Lupe Fiasco's "Lamborghini Angels" that i cant find the meaning to. Some say that it is about a woman, and some say its about hiphop. I think its both tbh. What do you think?

"With her eyes to the ceiling and a needle in her brain
He looks back into the crowd, wipes the blood and then explains
How she slipped from this existence to the realm of the deranged
Her becoming must be halted to reverse what she became
From the looseness of her tongue, to the pollution of her aims
To do nothing is barbaric, the solution is humane
You must destroy the mind and hopefully retrain
You torture out the wildness, then replace it with the tame
Blank slate when she recovers, she won't even know her name
Perfect wife and perfect lover, no resistance, no complaints
May God bless the scientific cure for the insane
Knew she couldn't go to school, but she thought that that should change"

Well, Ninja...

This verse is about a progressive woman who the operating scientists think is “wild” and “insane”

They attempt to “cure” her of her ambitions to get an education, mentality of free speech, and modern western rights and equalities. They see these as a sickness & try to correct her through inhumane procedures

They try to justify their actions to their audience (society) saying it’s what’s right and will make her a “better person” when they’re actually doing the opposite

thank you, Rap Genius
