[Anime] Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan) 1S7i1Ar

Premiere: April 7, 2013
Production: Wit Studio (Part of Production IG)

Several hundred years ago, humans were nearly exterminated by Titans. Titans are typically several stories tall, seem to have no intelligence, devour human beings and, worst of all, seem to do it for the pleasure rather than as a food source. A small percentage of humanity survived by walling themselves in a city protected by extremely high walls, even taller than the biggest of Titans.

Flash forward to the present and the city has not seen a Titan in over 100 years. Teenage boy Eren and his foster sister Mikasa witness something horrific as the city walls are destroyed by a super Titan that appears out of thin air. Eren vows that he will murder every single giant and take revenge for all of mankind.

Wow, never thought this would get a anime adaptation. The manga is brutal, hopefully they don't water it down in the anime.

It's pretty much a guarantee that it'll get censored for the TV broadcast and then we'll get it uncut for the blu-rays.

First thing that came to mind for me was the animation studio. (Madhouse came to mind for me)

But I definitely see the budget being a big deal for this one. Some of the amazing manga scenes are gonna be pretty expensive if they want to do them justice. I'm just praying to Kami-sama to kill anyone who brings up the possibility of using CG for the Titan's.

I think there'll almost certainly be CG Titans, CG people too, lots of crowd scenes of both.

Well looks like I'll be watching chinese cartoons again. Just a bit wary about how they'll handle the conclusion for this adaptation though, seeing as the manga is nowhere near ending.

So excited for this one! Love the manga.. Really curious how they're gonna pull this one off. And yeah.. most likely would be better to wait for the uncensored version. This is probably gonna get censored to death...

It's definitely a series. As Sam stated earlier, it could always be a case of "cherry picking".

Considering the staff working on the series, and the manga's increasing popularity in Japan, it's safe to say they'll be working with a sizable budget.
