AF Twitter Project

Post by IeptBarakat on Thu Feb 13, 2014 1:49 am

The Anime Faction Twitter Project.
https://twitter.com/AnimeFaction

Our community is diverse and covers many entertainment fields in such a way that would be impossible for a single person to manage. So as a way to accommodate the lifestyles and time restraints of everyone, I've decided the best course of action would be collaboration. As this is purely an interest based project, updates should be posted on the author's free time and there is the possibility of content drought.

To help against the possibility of content drought, I am looking for additional people to contribute their own expertise to the twitter feed.

Current contributors:
PC/AF Steam Group News: IeptBarakat
AF Youtube Channel Uploads: FullArmageddon

Looking for:
Anime News & Announcements
Localized Games & Announcements
Forum Community Managers (Sig contests, H&H)
Gaming Community Managers(Fighting Games, Twitch Streams, Game Nights)

Guidelines: This isn't a blog (not yet at least), so no use of Kojima style lunch photos, retweeting and/or general rambling.

Currently this will be a joint effort between FullArmageddon and myself, if you wish to participate then post below on what section you would like to cover.

Otherwise, if you currently use twitter and want to support the project, feel free to 'follow' us on our twitter page.

Q&A:
Spoiler:

Q: What does this mean for AF and why are you doing it?

A: Our community is no doubt a dedicated bunch, but the members who stayed the longest and have been the primary user base since the departure from GT are all growing up and simply don't have time or interest dedicate themselves to the forums anymore. Combined with the the low attach rate of new forum users and the overall low activity of the longterm userbase, I believe that if we all give a small part of our free time to keep the new community members interested, then we might have a chance to attract some new longterm community members and retain some old timers.

Q: Will this be a half-assed project full of complacency?

A: That is for you to decide, if you would like to see AF rise from it's current depression, then you should dedicate some more of your free time to it in any shape or form.

Q: When you said this might have a chance to "attract some longterm community members", how do you think it will happen?

A: Social Media has the potential to spread infinitely, although it's not guaranteed. If we manage to keep people interested, who knows what could happen?
